Welcome to Connection Wellness

Compassion is key to the care provided by Dr. Lindsey Wilder Flatt LAc, DAc, DOM at Connection Wellness.

Navigating our health and the healthcare system can be an overwhelming task! We strive to teach you how to better understand and advocate for your health, providing information, advice, and (most importantly!) symptom relief; while referring you to other resources and care as needed.

Connection Wellness helps you to connect the dots on your health; alleviating symptoms, and improving vitality. Using a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine (including acupuncture, herbal medicine, and bodywork), and Functional Medicine (including bloodwork, nutrition, and supplementation), I offer a number of approaches to bring you compassionate and evidence-based care.

Why Acupuncture and Functional Medicine?

What Do Acupuncture and Functional Medicine Help?

Both acupuncture and functional medicine treat the individual, with the understanding that health looks different for everyone. Some symptoms and conditions might respond better to one approach than the other... while for some issues, I use a combination approach!

Herbal Medicine
Digestion

GI complaints can be rooted in a dis-regulated sympathetic nervous system, or be the result of  functional issues like low motility, imbalanced HCL, low enzyme production, or imbalanced gut flora. A combination of acupuncture, herbal medicine and functional medicine are needed for best effect.

Stress

Stress is so prevalent in our lives that many of us forget just how much it is affecting us! When stress is high, the entire parasympathetic nervous system stops functioning properly, contributing to a wide number of symptoms including all the ones listed here, insomnia, and mood issues. Acupuncture is an incredibly effective treatment because it works directly on the nervous system. Herbal medicine and supplementation are amazing adjuncts!

Immune Regulation

When the immune system is underactive, it cannot stave off threats to the body. When it is overactive, it can cause autoimmune issues. A combination of herbal medicine, functional medicine, and acupuncture can help to regulate the immune system.

Fatigue

Fatigue can be the result of adrenal, mitochondrial, or endocrine dysfunctions. Functional medicine provides the best tools for assessment, while acupuncture, herbal medicine, and supplementation are highly effective at reducing the symptoms of fatigue.

Pain

One of the most common complaints I see, acupuncture and herbal medicine excel at the treatment of headaches, musculoskeletal pain, and neurological pain.

Women's Health

Traditional Chinese Medicine has been successfully addressing hormonal imbalance, painful periods, and infertility with a combination of acupuncture and herbal medicine for several thousand years, while functional medicine provides us tools to further assess these imbalances.
